Pursuit Assist on 03/05/2023

On 03/05/2023 at about 1100 hours, a Thompson Falls City Officer was attempting to conduct a traffic when the vehicle failed to yield. This was the beginning of the pursuit headed west out of Thompson Falls. Deputies responded and assisted as did Montana Highway Patrol. The pursuit ended when the male driver bailed out of the vehicle on foot at Graham Grove Lane.

The search for the male was terminated due to safety concerns for officers searching on foot, conditions and other factors. This was roughly around 1445 hours.

At about 1715 hours a resident called in that law enforcement had contact with earlier in the day, while searching for the male. The resident advised that he could see the male suspect walking along his fence line. The resident called in with updates of the male's location on his property until officers could respond.

A Deputy took the male into custody at about 1830 hours. The male suspect after being arrested and given his shiny bracelets was checked by EMS and denied medical. The male is currently in the Sanders County Detention Center.

It was a collaborative effort by all agencies involved from start to finish. A special shout out to the unsung hero that often is forgotten our dispatcher Shelly Wrightson. Our dispatchers are our life lines in all that we do we cannot thank them all enough.

This case is being handled and investigated by the Thompson Falls City Police Department.
