This afternoon, Lincoln County deputies in the Eureka area located an adult male wanted on several felony warrants. Upon contact by the deputies, the male fled in a vehicle. A pursuit ensued. A Montana Highway Patrol trooper and later a Montana FWP warden  assisted the Lincoln County deputies. Border Patrol also responded. Flathead County deputies and Two Bear Air also began responding.

The Montana Highway Patrol trooper assisting with the pursuit and apprehension of the suspect was run over by the suspect vehicle. The trooper was flown by air ambulance to Logan Health in Kalispell and is reportedly in stable condition.

All individuals in the suspect vehicle were apprehended and are currently incarcerated at the Lincoln County Detention Center.

The Montana Department of Justice Department of Criminal Investigation has been requested to lead the investigation.  The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office as well as Montana Highway Patrol will be assisting. The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released soon.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office greatly appreciates the assistance of our local law enforcement partners in taking this wanted person into custody. We also thank Sheriff Brian Heino and the Flathead County Sheriff's Office for looking after the many law enforcement officers arriving at Logan Health to be with the injured trooper and his family.

We ask everyone to kindly join us in offering healing thoughts and prayers for the injured MHP Trooper.
