Montana's Revenue Interim Committee will be addressing the 2023 biennium revenue outlook in its final regular meeting of the interim via Zoom on Friday, according to a press release from the state.
In addition to the 2023 outlook, the meeting will address an administrative rule review, consider legislation requests and review an update from the Montana Department of Revenue. The committee will also review five bills from the Tax Study Committee that focus on full inflation for the mill levy limit, an increase in minimum corporate income tax, a decouple from the CARES Act net operating loss-deduction provisions, a property tax circuit breaker and a revised calculation of capital gains tax credits.
The committee will also look at an alternative energy systems credit refundability bill from the tax credit review and an increase to minimum project, subject to contractor's license fee, according to the press release. There will also be the review of the revised tax lien and tax deed laws, converting the tax haven list to tax haven criteria, revising the tax credit review process and revised lodging tax laws.
