The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) held a question and answer session on the Scratchgravel Hills Recreation Area Management Plan to make sure public input is provided, a BLM-issued release states.
The BLM held informal sessions on July 16 and July 22 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Both sessions were held at the Norris Trailhead in Helena.
The public comment period for the plan will also be extended by an additional 15 days until Aug. 22 due to the changes in dates, the release states.
The sessions will be different than how they're normally held to make it possible for the sessions to be held in smaller groups due to recommendations by both the county and the governor on reducing group sizes when possible, according to the BLM.
The plans for the project can be viewed on BLM's website. They are for the construction of a 40-mile trail system for hiking, biking, disc golf, train running, and equestrian use.
