MARK FRENCH FOR CONGRESS: Deer Lodge voters elect new mayor, council members

Mark French For Congress issued the following announcement on Nov.6.

 Citizens in the City of Deer Lodge voted for mayor and council members with mail-in ballots counted Tuesday evening.

Approximately 48 percent of those receiving ballots responded with a total of 787 ballots counted. Diana Solle, retired real estate agent and former Powell County Victims’ Advocate, won the mayoral race with 428 votes. Acting Mayor Caleb Burton, who was appointed to fill the position when Mayor Zane Cozby resigned, received 314 votes.

A four-year term in Precinct 4 was won by Thomas Malcomb with 80 votes; Mary Ann Fraley received 58 votes.

In Precinct 5, John Molendyke ran unopposed for re-election to a four-year term and received 166 votes.

Amanda Bohrer received 158 votes in Precinct 6 to earn the two-year term.

A four-year term in the same precinct was won by Dick Bauman with 138 votes; Chris Anderson received 73 votes.

In Precinct 7 John Henderson ran unopposed for the four-year term and received 154 votes.

For the two-year term in the same precinct Jill Garland received 67 votes and John Skibsrud was elected with 107 votes.
