Silent Service: Honoring Sergeant Haag & Officer Astorga

In the early morning of January 11, 2023, Sergeant Haag responded to a disabled vehicle on the west side of Kalispell finding an unconscious occupant in the driver’s seat.

He broke the window and along with a bystander pulled the occupant from the vehicle.

As they pulled the occupant from the vehicle, the vehicle burst into flames.

Sgt. Haag then recognized the occupant had no pulse, pulled the occupant further from the vehicle and along with his partner, Officer Astorga, gave CPR and AED deployment.

Kalispell Fire quickly arrived and were able to suppress the fire and provide further first aid to the occupant.

The combined efforts were able to stabilize the occupant and get him to the hospital for a higher level of treatment.
